Are Indulgences Biblical?

1. The Catechism of the Catholic Church in paragraph 1471 gives a definition for indulgences. In your own words, explain what indulgences are to someone who has never heard of them.
2. What is the difference between temporal and eternal punishments due to sin? Gives some biblical examples.
3. Why does the Church grant indulgences?
4. Do a bit of research and find an act which the Church grants an indulgence to perform. What one must do to gain the indulgence?
